A Wickedly Good Time

It was a beautiful day in London this morning. Rachael and I got up early to go to the TKTS booth in order to try and find tickets for Wicked and Book of Mormon. For the first time ever, there wasn't a line at breakfast! It was a wonderful feeling. We got to the ticket booth about thirty minutes early, but saw to our dismay that they don't sell Book of Mormon tickets. We walked around the Piccadilly Circus area until the booth opened and bought two tickets for Wicked for only twenty-six pounds. We spent the rest of the morning shopping around Long Acre Road. We found a cute outdoor market named Apple Market where there were many neat homemade goods. For lunch, we found a small Italian restaurant named Bella Italia nestled in a street by the theaters and they had amazing spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread bites. As we walked further after lunch, we saw three more Bella Italias on the same street! As a treat we went to Ben and Jerry's for fantastic ice cream. We were exhausted after lunch which resulted in a quick nap before beginning our afternoon adventures. We went to the famous Oxford Street to see all of the famous shops. I don't think I've ever seen so many people packed in such a large stretch of road. Driving down Oxford Street must be a nightmare since people cross wherever and whenever they feel like it.
After a light supper we walked to the Apollo Victoria Theater. Wicked was such an amazing performance! The voices on those actors is incredible. I was so shocked by the ending, but I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it.
This weekend we're hoping to visit the science museum and various parks around London. I can't believe the trip is almost in the last week, but it has been such an adventure so far and I can't wait to see what the last week will bring!

  1. That sounds like an awesome day Hannah! I'm so jealous you got to see Wicked, it must have been amazing! I agree that it would be terrible to drive on Oxford Street, there's a ridiculous amount of people there all the time. I definitely want to find that little market you guys found too, it sounds like there was some good stuff there!
